About Me

Hello and thank you for stopping by to learn more about me.

I am Nadia, married to my best friend, Dmitri, and together we have a daughter, Nina.

I work my corporate world day job as an Environmental Scientist, and during my spare time I love spending time with family, remodeling, renovating, and decorating our home (we document our turning-house-into-home journey at dodesignyourself.com), traveling, playing guitar or practicing yoga.

What is this blog about?

It is about my journey towards a minimal lifestyle. I found the inspiration for this blog after learning about the capsule wardrobe concept. That was like a breath of fresh air for me. I used to do a lot of emotional shopping, which did not represent my style or taste. I would grab things that looked good on me, or I liked the color, or were on sale. But when I brought them home, they would sit in my closet for years. Some of the items still have the tags on.

When I decided to purge my closet, I was worried about how would I choose a limited number of things that are truly my style. But that turned out to be easier than I thought.

I realized that I am not alone out there, so if you are ready for changes or just want to try a new approach, you are in the right place and I hope that my experience and tips will be helpful and inspirational for you.

What is this blog NOT about?

It is not about how to dress and what to buy; I am by no means a fashion specialist. This blog, rather, shows that it is possible to shop responsibly and create many outfits with fewer items.

Now as you know a little bit about me, I would be happy to hear from you. Please comment and tell me about yourself and what you expect to find on this blog.

And please, let’s keep in touch! Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram.
